New conure two concerns

He does it randomly one wing then the other then both...I tried to get a better video of him today will post it.....
It really looks like it disturbs him when it happens

I just watched the video. I have not seen my 8 month old sun conure do this. He briefly flicks his wings in unison when he wants to be picked up or is pleased about something. The one your bird does seems almost involuntary and look uncomfortable. Could it be from poor diet at the pet store or something else? I'm not sure, I am still new at this myself, but I think a vet exam would indeed be the best thing at this point.

I am probably going to have to take him in on the 8th when the vet is next at Petco....
The food at the store is the same as I was recommended to buy Sunburst...although now he gets little treats like grapes and apple pieces

I typically don't recommend the food from the major chain pet shops, and I've heard the vets at those stores aren't necessarily the best vets, so please use caution with them.

I've never owned a Pyrrhura conure, let alone a young conure (both of mine have/are Aratingas and have been older, adult birds), but I keep thinking about this little guy! The ring thing to me seems as if he's uncomfortable with his clip, and if this is the case, it may help to trim the clipped feathers down to the base, near where it grows from his skin... this is with the idea that the trimmed ends could be bothering him.

However, the very simple fact of having clipped wings (since it's an unnatural thing to begin with) could be bothering him, so trimming further may do no good.

It's been a few days, so would love to hear an update! Is the behavior continuing? Getting worse? Better? Same?

Hi sorry for the delay in reply but we have been without power here since Monday with Hurricaine Sandy (luckily Rico made it through unflustered).
He has still been twitching though not as bad....I do notice though when he is out of his cage he can 'fly' a little.....about two feet off the ground...not sure if all this could be the flight featheres growing in....

Rico...happy that we have power back after the storm....finally:)

Glad you all weathered through the storm safely! Really sounds like his wings are bothering him, can't think of anything else. Hope he gets comfortable with them although it would be interesting to see what some 'experts' say if you show them the videos!

Went back to Petco today, as they requested, to see their vet....was told vet wasn't there so I asked the guy in the store when she would be there and he wasn't sure...anyways after a lot of back and forth with this guy I asked to see the manager. After I spoke to her and showed her a video of wing issue she said I could find a vet and have them bill Petco and corporate office would take care of it...so the story goes on...
