Cockatiel
Hi! Around 2 days ago I got a new girl cockatiel. She had a previous owner but I'm not sure for how long. She also had a bird buddy but was separated at purchase. She doesn't seem to have any separation problems. But she is making flocking noises and climbing her cage, going back and forth on perches. Is this normal behaviour? She also seems to want to come out the cage but should I still wait until she's more trusting with me before doing so? Thanks :)

Sounds normal to me. Assuming she doesnt have clipped or trimmed wings, personally, I would put her cage in a smallish room, a bedroom perhaps, and close the door and sit with her for a while, a couple hours maybe and open the door to see if she wants to come out. I say a small room so in case she immediately files around she won't have a huge room to gain flight speed and hit walls going fast.
How big is her cage (DIMENSIONS)? I hope it's large enough for her to move around in and play. I would recommend 30x18x32 as the ideal size for a cockatiel. You can get one that size with a stand on Amazon for about $100. Once she gets comfortable navigating the room she will live in she should have several hours if out of cage time every day with no dogs or cats in the room.

Good luck with your new girl! Female cockatiels are very nice birds. Quieter than the males and less boisterous.

Hi! thank you so much for your reply :). I've took your advice and sat with her a bit and let her out. She was very quiet. I brought a cage when I got her and its just about enough but I will upgrade once she gets a bit more comfortable! :) Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it!

I'm glad it went so well. Keep up the efforts and you'll have a great new friend. Cockatiels are such nice birds.
