Raven's cage all of a sudden is flaking off huge pieces of powder coating and now has an unacceptable amount of rust areas.
I bought this cage for another bird in the past. I used it about 6 years? But in the past few years it has been in storage. Most of the time it had been outdoors with only a tarp over it, and the elements must have gotten to it, and shortened the life of this cage. It is a no name cage, although it actually came with SS bowls! I don't even remember where I got it. It actually seemed like it was going to last a little longer (only very minimal rust spots which I wasn't worried about), but just yesterday it started really 'falling apart' all of a sudden!
Areas like this on the bars. I'll have to cover with black electrical tape this week until the new cage gets here.
I ordered this one in link below in the black with silver vein kind of color.
It's a playtop instead of a dometop this time. I couldn't find a dometop which was not ridiculously tall. King's Cages - Avian and Pet Bird Cages, Supplies, Food, Toys, Perches, Aviaries, Pluck No More
This one is 2 inches less in the width, but that's fine. His cage now was originally purchased for a larger bird, so is a mansion for him. This one is still big enough for Raven to invite his friends over every night .
I actually think I will be more comfortable with this one having 3/4 bar spacing instead of 1 inch, since his smaller friend Griffin is always over lol. Also it doesn't have as large of a gap between the grate and bottom tray. Hopefully it's small enough Griffin can't squeeze through. Overall though, this is the only cage I've found that has more of the features that I was looking for.
It should be here at least by the end of next week. I hope the difference won't be such a shock, but I had no choice!
