Hello everyone.
I'm new to the forum and purchased a green-cheeked conure about a month ago. Her name is Lulu. She is 6 months old.
I have been trying to make friends with her. I have tried to get my hand near her but she usually moves away and will bite at me. She is gradually getting better, but she is still afraid of me.
She can't stand to have my hand near her but she also hates to be alone. She squawks if I leave her alone even for a few minutes.
Is there something I should be doing to train her? I have read that it is best to work with them out of their cages, but, I can't even get her out of her cage. Yes, I could reach in and grab her but I want her to trust me and to not be afraid.
Anyway, it's now been a month and I figure I must be doing something wrong.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeanne
