Hi everyone Im new here at the site! I'm getting a baby Hahns macaw in about 4-5 days and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to make him feel at home or how to get him to feel accustomed to me. I've done a lot of research and can't wait to bring him home. Thanks for replying.

:green2:

Welcome to the forum! I absolutely LOVE Hahns macaws! They're my dream bird! I'm sure he will love you, just talk, read, sing etc. to him, he should calm down if he's stressed. Any names you are thinking of?

Welcome to the forums....

How old is your Macaw? You say he's a baby.... Does he need to be hand fed?

It's difficult to give advice, if we don't know the basic details... :)

Welcome
What an exciting time for you
Give as much details about your baby, as mentioned above.
Remember to post pic's when baby arrives

I believe he's 5 months old. I'm picking him up on Sunday. I'm taking any names suggestions so feel free to give me some if your willing to. :)

Welcome and pictures are mandatory :). Ok. , I'm kidding ;)

At 5 months probably weaned, wracking my brain to remember our Hahn's age when we brought her home. A big factor is that the breeder was a neighbor so the wife visited the bird QUITE often before bringing her home.. I will tell you this though, that bird will think it's 10ft. tall & bulletproof, it's amazing how they ain't afraid of much at all. They are really great birds but can be moody though. (this is ours, yours might be completely different :) )
