New Baby Home

Our 4 month old WBC came home Saturday.

He/she has pretty much the same routine each day. Wake up cry for the baby bird food mix, chill in cage, cry for baby food 4 hours later, chill in cage, cry again for baby food at 6 PM or so. "Prepare" bed for 1 hour or so, sleep by 7:30.

It gets plenty of time out of cage, but at this pint is not inclined to play much with the toys all over the cage. It does however, climb around alot.

It was hand raised and is very well socialized. Does this sound like the norm for a WBC at this stage in development?

P.S. it does sample pellets, seeds, fruits and veggies, but seems to enjoy the baby food as main source of nutrition.

Input appreciated

is he /she weaned ? Sounds like not all the way [and they will do this baby begging thing ] Keep doing what your doing ,offer soft foods, pellets ,seed ,fruits and vegs then cut back the baby formula .I feed mine in the morning and night with treats .Work eventually towards that and not that afternoon feeding. He sounds Great!!! When I first brought my sammy home he didnt even know if he liked people yet .So we put him on the back of the couch with foot toys and let him come to us [no pressure] Just continue to interact with him [and other family members] and try to keep that realistic time out schedule so you dont have a monster :) Ps whats his name?

He/she does not have a name yet because we are waiting for DNA test results. We are doing all you say, but he/she seems to need the baby food as a comfort thing. We put he/she on the play top today, with a bowl of fruits and veggies, and he/she emptied it, of course mostly on playtop and floor, but grabbed every piece. Watching them prepare their "bed" is hysterical to us. It's a whole routine. Too funny!.

Great your doing everthing right :) These guys are the best birds [ you will remember me saying this when hes older.] :)
