Hi there, and welcome to the forum. :)

So, what did you name your new family member?

His name is going to be Tiago, I wanted it to sound Brazilian, since his species origin is from Brazil in the Amazon :D

Macaws are the most toddler like of the bunch...

You raise them the same way you would a human toddler. With boundary setting, nurturing guidance, lots of love, and discipline.

This ought to get you started. About half way through this there are a bunch of links to macaw newbie "required reading" threads.

I'm so excited for my little angel :blue1: and his sister-in-law ¨Sweetie¨ :blue2: is...........not too keen on the idea :( but I'm more worried about the Blue And Gold Macaw's safety than my Parakeet's :D but I want them BOTH safe too :) as well as our FOUR dogs! :D

Congrats to you! I was scared at first too, but I just read up on bngs alot and watched videos. You can never really know what to expect until you get the actual time with you new bird. He is still extremely young so it shouldn't be too difficult to mold to you and learn from eachother. I am super excited for you and Tiago. Good luck and can't wait to get updates!

Aww...congrats! I would love to have a B&G but my flock is full. Keep us updated and please post pics:D
