did the man show you how to do it ? my gcc was my first hand feeding but i spent a whole day at my breeder learning how.
When handfeeding your going to warm the water to 120 degree's F, then mix in the forumla and stir well, cool the formula to about 105 degrees F, never feed over 110 F. Your going to feed from the left side of the beak. Fill the crop till it's full, but do not stretch the crop, stretching the crop could lead to death
(thank you shannonh1984 of talk parrots)
Congratulations on your baby alex... They're good eaters... I fed my Max using a bend spoon for the first couple of weeks... I also gave him grated fruit and vegies as well as seed and pellets... It's important they have a selection of foods available in order to wean...
Hi Solobaby, we spent a long time at his house and he showed us how to feed it( calling it as dont know sex ) we are using nutribird A21 formula to feed it.
Hi Lene1949, I think we have mad the right choice in getting an Alexandrine, we use a syringe to feed it we use nutribird A21 formula thats what the breeder uses.
Thanks for your advice.
Stan.
1664stan, you have made exactly the right choice in getting an Alexandrine! They are wonderful companions and will keep you interested and amused with their cleverness and funny antics. Oh, and of course, being seriously green they're among the very-most-beautiful of all birds. Do post some pics of your baby for us to drool over, won't you?
