I wish I had socialized Skittles better. When I got him, Peaches (my cockatiel) was 16yrs old and the vet was worried about her possibly 'catching' something if Skittles had something. She recommended I keep them in separate rooms. I did that and by the time the quarantine was over, Skitty was too bonded to me. Now I can't have them both out at the same time or he'll attack her. Add that to the fact I rarely have company and Skittles lacks socialization.
I wish I had socialized him better, if for no other reason than to be able to allow others to hold him and pet him, but he'd have to have regular contact with people and even I don't have that.
To quote the vet: "animals are great, people are sick". lol. The babies have two vets. It's a husband and wife that run the practice.
