Hi All,

Barbets combine gorgeous coloration and a unique body plan. Related to woodpeckers and toucans, barbets somehow bring both to mind. I’ve always enjoyed working with them, although a “barbet incident” gave me quite a scare early-on in my career…Read article here:

Hi, Very unique, aren't they? They are more common in zoos than private collections here in the USA, but a few specialized breeders carry them. A nice goal to shoot for! Best, Frank
 
VERY unique! They look really smart also. I would probably want to keep it inside and be it's BFF, rather than leave it in an aviary all the time. lol.

Hi, Thanks, they are very alert and will become quite bold...but, unfortunately, they need lots of space and rarely adjust to cages,,,worth looking for in zoos, really something to see "in person" Best, Frank
 
I have heard of them but have never actually seen one, thanks for the link.
