New African grey

Hello I started In this group about a week and a half ago when I purchased a 7 month African grey when I first got him he would not let me come near him but my boyfriend could so I made some progress and he now steps up on me so my next question is when my boyfriend takes him out and plays wit him he is content now when I do it he just wants back on his perch how do I get him to b comfortable wit me on my lap or just out and about

just a bit of time and patience, and of course favourite treats. Much like the Football Association over this part of the planet they're very open to bribes! Maybe try having him on your boyfriend then have your boyfriend put him on your lap, you never know you may trick him into being comfortable with you!
