long post ya ready?
Sammy and bathing what a nightmare it has
and still is 15 months into the game.
16 yr old and i don't think he was ever properly bathed or
offered water in anything other than his water dish.
he has only had 2 through bathings in the last 15 months and they where
forced spray bottle and I just can't bring myself to it anymore.

he runs like hell from any running water, pan in the bottom of the cage
nope. he is fascinated with any thing i have on my head so one day i let him
get away with snatching a dew rag, and watched him shred it up and carry the longer pieces to his water dish and in they go. so i sit back to see whats up.
so he gets all the soaked shreding's and then he perches and full wings open
and starts shaking his head flipping the water all over himself and every thing else near his cage.
the never give up is about when i catch him at it i have introduced the spray bottle on a fine mist and today was the first time he did not run quickly and stood for a couple minutes.
so hard to believe after all the spray baths he has watched, he just don't seem to get it .

Definitely never give up! Spray bottles with a very fine mist are a great way to introduce water in a non-threatening way!

After almost a year..BB still hates water,in any form. ONCE he did a 15 second flapflap in the kitchen sink

I told him yesterday,NO MORE STINKY BIRD!! and I held his smelly butt under the trickle of the faucet. Boy oh boy did he protest! Grumbling and growling at me..gave me the cold shoulder too afterwards...for about 5 minutes
