Last update 💜
Hes perked up and eaten a ton of food
And is coming home today from the vet
I've already changed things around the house
Going to avoid cranky mad flying and pay much closer attention when its about to happen.

One more update
Hes at the vet tonight
They just giving him fluids and pain killers
His wing is sore .. which i knew but they couldnt find an obvious break.
She said he might have internal bleeding ...
but cant tell without an xray which is $700.
I just don't have $1000 to spend ... and she said if he did they can't do much about it.
Before he went he was still sleepy. Very unlike him.
He did eat a little .. drank water and pooped a few times.
I had to bring it to him. But he took it willingly.
I'm hoping it is only the wing. We can deal with no flying. I can help him and he climbs. We can put things up to help him get higher.
I hoped because he was eating and pooping the internal injury was less likely.
But I don't know enough about this type of bird.
If he lasts another night I'll be more hopeful.
I still am totally responsible and feel terrible.
I should have been watching much more closely
I hope it hasn't caused an end ... its only been a couple of months 😭

I'll update because I can't delete it
He is still sleepy
But he wanted get o his stand
He had a drink a little bit of mash
Can't fly well but not so unsteady on his feet
Can't fly though .. just drops down ..
I won't sleep much tonight
My daughter called and can take him to the vet tomorrow
Ill be on high alert from now on

Birdie was flying crazy
Something scared him
I pulled the blind down and went to pull the curtain with the broom
Me being stupid and lazy
Birdie went mad flying again and hit the broom
I don't even know how
It was so fast
I'm so stupid
Hes in shock I think
He has eyes closed ... he has bit me a few times
I'm on my own
Avian vet is closed
But I can't take him because I just tested positive for covid today
I've had him on me to keep him warm
He did struggle and he wanted to go
He climbed his stand
Had a pellet and he looked off balance
I made him come back so I could keep him warm
I tried a blanket and he won't have it.
Hes sleeping on me now
I'm not sure what else I can do overnight to keep him going
I'm freaking out and crying and sick all together
Hes so naughty but I love him ...
I can't believe I'm so stupidto not have been watching more closely.
I know birds can come out of shock .... and I think I'm supposed to let him rest
Not try to keep him awake
Every so often he looks at me or has a chew
Then back to rest

Ohh try to find another avian vet

When a bird has had a head injury. Keep it caged and quiet. Put a towel on bottom of cage.
Thus is because fly around or moving around it can injure its self even more.
Also because all of that will raise its blood pressure cause more bleeding or swelling on brain .

A veterinarian can help, as have medicine that can lower brain swelling

I wasn't sure if I should leave in his newer cage or put him back in the small one just until he can get to the vet tomorrow...
He sitting in his big cage now.
His grip is ok ... he's more alert
But can't fly.
There's a shelf under where he sleeps so if he fell it would there.
I'll get some fleece and put it under
He has been sleepy but not fallen off anything yet 🤞
I thought he'd hit his head
But I'm wondering now if it's his wing / body. But I felt around and he isn't bothered by it. So not objecting. But I could be missing something.
It might be the joint not the wing.
I don't know how I'll sleep ...
I'll check on him all night ...

I'm sorry, how scary for both of you! You and this little one sure have been on a roller coaster of emotions and events in the time you've known each other.

I'm so glad your daughter can take him to the vet for you and I hope you're not feeling too poorly yourself 💛 Sending love and warm thoughts!

I'm so dizzy but I'm scared to leave him sleep
I'm hoping I can check on him through out the night
So frustrated I can't just take him myself
I'm really angry with myself.. I should have watched more closely.
I was looking out the window to see what spooked him.
It was a big uncoordinated mess.

I’m so sorry this has happened to Birdie and to you. Accidents happen, and you are also not feeling well. I hope the appointment is helpful.

Hes hurt his wing but doesn't feel broken
He just hasn't perked up as much as he should have.
Picking up tomorrow
I hope he can recover

I'm so glad you were able to get him to the veterinarian.
I do hope and pray for a full recovery.

Warmth, and providing good food. Helps them heal.
