Parrots
2 love birds.
He is called Pityu
She is called Citrus
They are 3years old, she is a little older than him
I know its hard to tell the sex of a lovebird, but i know there are some realy talented parrot people here:)
So basicly i think its a HE cause he makes paper stripes but he cant put them in his feathers even though his trying.
He is pritty small and but he is having a "big" stomach wich is true for females.

I have some pictures here (the yellow bird at the last picture is a female):

If its anything more you need to know just write it down, i know a lot about him(her?)

The only sure fire way to tell is to have your lovie DNA tested :) I use avian biotech for my parrots

Thanks, but how much does it cost?I rather do this free as I heard people that can determine the gender by just seing the bird and its behaviour, someone here?

You can tell by the pelvic bones. Some times hard if u have never done it but if u know 100% the yellow one is a female u can use her to help. Females have wide pelvic bones, males r very close together. Feel hers then feel this 1. Also a female will tuck the paper strips so could be male. The pics r not great to tell the sex sorry, try the pelivc bones

I figured out Puck was a boy when he tried to mate with me... the boy way...

If your bird tries to mate with you, and its tail goes down, it's a boy. If the tail goes up it's a girl.

Once they reach sexual maturity you may find out. If it mounts toys (or you) it is likely a male. If it backs up against them and rubs on them, it is likely female. Otherwise I'd have it DNA sexed to find out.

I don't know the gender of my new amazon yet. I think it's a male, but I may never know for sure unless I have him/her tested.
