hello i am trying to understand a something. i have seen in multiple places that you need to spend lots of time with your feathered friend to keep him happy. my question is will he be ok for eight hours in his cage while i'm at work?
p.s. i forgot to mention that the rest of the family is gone at around the same times

My husband and I both work 8-9 hours a day, and work the same shift. My birds are fine while we are at work. Just provide lots of different toys, foraging stuff, things like that. :)

Drew, parrots don't need our undivided attention to be happy. They are capable of entertaining themselves if given a heap of stuff in their cage to play with through the day. Just as Rio Mom has said.

I find my companion parrots don't get a lot of my time when i am super busy. I figure quality time is better than quantity.

My hahns likes to play in his cage alot throughout the day, however he is spoiled with a ton of toys, when we are in the living room he loves to people watch on his perch.
