So I picked up Savannah last Tuesday and took her straight to the vet so I can get all the trauma out of the way in one day. Well I get a call from my vet on Friday informing me they didn't take enough blood so they couldn't get all the tests done!

Geez! I took her Tuesday so she could settle in and I wouldn't have to take her to the vet a week later. I can't believe they didn't get enough blood! I take Quincy for his check up on Tuesday so I am going to try to take her then. But if it is too much to get her in her crate so soon I will have to wait a few more weeks.

She is doing really well. I am going to start opening her cage tonight to give her a chance to come out. We'll see how that goes! I'm hopeful I can take her on Tuesday because I really want to get her blood tests finished!

Hey give us vet people a break! Sometimes when drawing blood the animal is being difficult and you believe you got enough and don't want to stress them out and then oops you didn't lol! It happens, but usually we make sure we have enough before we let the people leave:p.

Savannah will be fine she is a big girl and can deal with the vet I am sure!

Trust me I was more then nice about it. They appreciated my understanding.

Savannah was sedated by the way.
My vets an hour away so its not a quick trip. Im sure you can also understand my frustration in having to go back again.

I really like my vet and do understand these things happen. :)

Haha I was just playing with you and I do understand your frustration as well as the vets because he is probably ashamned.. And argh sedation for a blood draw I hate that.... They don't need to be sedated it is so rough on them.

Jtbird - Its ok to play! :D

He decided to sedate her because she seemed pretty stressed and he figured he could clip her wings, nails & get her blood. Im not sure if he will sedate her again.
Im hoping not.

I opened Savannah's cage door tonight. & she poked her head out several times. I sat and talked to her with her door open for about an hour. It's a good start.

Thanks JTBird! Tonight I was able to get her out on the stick for a few minutes and pet her, too! We got a treat and I put her back in her cage. I left the door open then she came out on her own after awhile and hung out on the top of her cage. So we had a great visit today!

I agree, she seem to be progressing nicely. Better then I had anticipated! She is such a little sweetheart. Very gentle and laid back. I think getting her to the vet tomorrow should go well. :)
