Hey, All!

Just wanted to share with my parrot family that my older son, Aidan, is graduating from Kindergarten, today!!! I'm so proud of him! He's worked hard this year, and watching him learn to read has been such a pleasure!

I'm a writer, myself, (nothing published...yet.) so seeing his eyes brighten up as the world of books opens up before him brings me a special joy! (Although every parent feels a similar "special joy", I'm sure. Not like I've cornered the market on that feeling. But it's still special nonetheless! Ha!)

Anyhow, he graduates at 12:30 today, and he's quite excited to be a "big boy", now! And I'm rather excited for him, as well! So I thought I'd share with you all!

CONGRATULATIONS AIDAN!!! Very special day!

Stephen, your love of literature is a beautiful gift to pass along to your sons. I have an empty place on my library shelf for an autographed copy of your first best seller.

You may not have cornered the market of parental pride, but make yourself at home in that corner. Many, many, accomplishments to come.

Congrats! My daughter is only 3, but I can totally imagine how that's going to feel. Go Aidan!

Awesome job, Aidan!!!

No wonder you are so proud, Stephen, what an amazing boy Aidan is (and Ryan too of course!) You and Aida are amazing parents:)

I also have a space reserved for your bestseller, Stephen, and also one reserved for Aidan's first bestseller:)

Congratulations to Aidan!! What an accomplishment!! I bet you are so proud of him! Isn't it amazing to see them learn and grow?

Many congrats to Aidan!!! :D WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!!

Take TONS of pictures, Stephen (you must be there right now....anticipating the special event :) )

HURRAY! CONGRATS! I'm so happy for you and Aidan :) You'll have to have lots of happy cake (as my younger sister used to say at that age) to celebrate! :D

Thank you all so much! The graduation ceremony was beautiful! Each child wrote about what they felt they had learned or accomplished during their year in Kindergarten. Some children pointed out how they had learned to read. Others, their newfound proficiency in math.

Do you know what my Aidan said? "When I first started kindergarten, I didn't know anything. But now I'm finished, and I know EVERYTHING!"

Hahaha! Everyone laughed, and more than a few parents in attendance nodded knowingly. I thought they only started thinking that they know everything in their teenage years?!? Smh.

And so it begins...

Hahaha Stephen :D!!! It starts early for you my friend!

Hmm... must be nice to know EVERYTHING! :52: I'm kinda jealous... Lol

Morning Stephen!

Seems like yesterday my three kids did that (time flies hold on tight)

GREAT Job Aidan!!

Stephen, REMEMBER "All The Last Times"
(Read text from my old website "condensed from "CHILD" Sue Diaz")

Joe & Shelley's Family WebSite

*HUGS*

Thank you for that quote, Joe. It's rather touching. A little depressing, too. Pardon my leaky eyes as I go wrap myself tightly around my son and refuse to let him grow one more inch! :p

Oh my, that Aidan is precious! I bet there were lots of smiles all around when he said what he had learned this year:)

We are all laughing hysterically and Aidan was merely stating a fact! Stephen I expect Aidan will "know everything" until he is roughly twenty-five. Aidan obviously has his father's sharp wit and delightful sense of humor.

Congrats to Aidan and his wonderful parents!

Hahahahaha! :D He knows everything?!?!?! *bows down*
Definitely has followed in his father's foot steps! ;)

Congratulations Aidan!! WOO HOO!!! :D

How old are they when they finish kindergarten in America? Is it 5?

You must be so very proud! :)

The years do fly by quickly  I realised i will be 20 in about 6 months.. How cool!

Soon Aidan will be in highschool! ;) Then the trouble begins haha

and hold on a second there Stephen.... 'Pardon my leaky eyes as I go wrap myself tightly around my son'

If i recall you said you have never cried with happiness, and you mocked me!!!!! ;) It looks like you have joined the group of happy criers hahaha :)

Not depressing, You just have to remember to take note of (and possible pictures) of all the "last" times too, better to realize now when you have so many left than to not realize at all

Your child's "growth" will always make you PROUD, Nothing depressing about that !!

Very Funny "I know EVERYTHING!" LOL did you video that?

<3

Don't think of it as a 'last', Stephen. It's the first of many accomplishments this boy will achieve to make you proud of him. See if you can find the books about Meg and Mog by Jan Pienkowski. They're mostly pictures with small sentences, but they're good for early readers because they can be read alone (ie. without adult help). Oh, and they're very funny too. :D
