Thanks I think he is a pretty cute little boy. His colors actually look kind of similar to a peacock's.

I like his fancy head. :)

WOW, what a beautiful bird and he knows it too. You can tell be the way he's styling and profiling for the camera hahahaha.

Thanks everyone!!! Almost everyone I have talked to say they have never even heard of a pionus. But the best part is even with him being a rescue he doesn't seem to have any residual effects from being a rescue.

I love Pionus. They are some of the least known parrots, but people that haven't been exposed to them are really missing out on a special bird. I have a whitecapped female that is an absolute doll.

Your bird is stunning and looks to be in really good health.

I feel the exact same way!! It is amazing how quickly he took a huge chunk of my heart.

Some people are lucky when they take in a rescue bird. You sure are one of those people. can you show us more of your treasure?

I love them.....mine is really sweet! By the way, it is a Blue Headed Pionus not a Blue Capped :)

There is no such thing as a Blue "CAPPED" Pionus. There is a WHITE-CAPPED Pionus however. Yours is a Blue HEADED Pionus for sure......The people may have gotten it wrong or gotten confused......

what a beautiful boy!! i love that feeling when you first get them home...so exciting and new and lovely! he will be a joy to get to know!!

Aww you guys who cares what the PROPER name is....come on now....all that matters is that he has found a forever home with someone that will love him.....
I have a black capped caique but in all my studying and reading about caiques I have also seen them listed as black headed......it doesn't matter to me...they could call him a white belly for all I care....I just love him to pieces......LOL

By the way,,,,more pictures when you can please....I am so fascinated by this species...can't wait to learn more.

TRUE! Whatever people want to call him, he is a beautiful looking Pionus!!!! :) :)
