My Macaw is going to kill herself in her cage.

Ref the cage covering issue:- We cover every cage that is not in a dedicated room were the room light give control. My little girl the most receint at 7 years celing high four foot wide closet with double doors that provide full darkness off the living room. I sleep within ear shot of three cocketiel cages which would only receive .a faint glimmer from a nightlight lower than the cage covers. The natural environment of most parrots has close to 12 hours of darknes, also much of the time total with night prowling preditors. Darknes is in my opinion essential. D.D.

I better not have mice. With 3 large dogs and my sisters cat, they won't last long.. But no, I don't have an issue with rodents ATM (Thank god. ) I am sure it could become a problem if I am not careful though :) My house was newly renovated, so it'll be hard for them to get in atm.

Oh geez, trust me they can get in no matter what. A friend and I watched one climb up the side of her house and somehow it went in between the siding. Siding overlaps pretty tightly, yet it did it! We just looked at each other and said yeah, they can get in no matter what! I have done everything you can think of to keep them out, but they get in anyway somehow. They are like silly putty or ghosts or something, lol!
