My lorikeet hates me

My lorikeet (Skittles) is 1 year and 4 months old, he was a playful bird and still is, but not with me, well not anymore.. it all happened when i left him in another house because i had to travel for 10 days. I came back to take him and turned out he was sick (inflammation in his liver). I had to give him an antibiotic by mouth and since he’s just a bird i had to gove it him by force that was around 1 month ago.

And then everything started here.. he is scared of me, he doesn’t whistle around me, doesn’t like to come over my hand, once i move my hand he runs away.

I tried giving him treat (honey) he comes over to eat then leave as far as he can from me, while he is friendly with all my family members as well as new people also.

What do i do ?

I'm so sorry this has happened to you @Hamda, and disrupted the bond you had with your lorikeet, but I'm quite sure he doesn't hate you! I have a little Varied lorikeet, I'm sure he's MUCH smaller than yours, and I wouldn't like to medicate him either cos we have a very close bond, but he can be a bitey little thing when he wants to be and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't much care for being medicated either! I think the best thing you can do is go back to square one, just like it was on the first day you were with him. Be calm and patient, take things slowly and start to build your relationship all over from scratch again by doing all of the things you did back then. Food bribery is your best friend, use all of the foods and treats that he loves the most, and lure him with his favourite toys as well - my guy LOVES anything that rattles and makes noise, stainless steel toys and bells are his favourites. It might take time and there may be a few stumbles along the way but I'm quite sure you will be able to rebuild your loving trusting relationship, because it's pretty evident how much you love him.
