Parrots
5 Parrots, 8 year old Blue-fronted Amazon, 2 1/2 yr. old African Grey, 2 3/4 year old Senegal. 5 month old ekkie, 5 month old Albino parakeet. Major Mitchell Cockatoo, passed away at age 68.
My Grey ("Greyson") is getting way to clever for his own good.

Lately he is getting very good at flying over to my arm and landing perfectly on command. Is well potty trained now as well.

He's a thinker and can adjust thought with new techniques....For example,
He hates bedtime ( what bird doesn't) When I say bedtime...instantly he goes "OOOooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh" in a not wanting to voice...and will swing around to middle of my back, on my shirt, and out of reach, knowing I can't reach him....I surprised him by taking off my shirt and going " Ahh Haaaaaaa....whatcha gonna do now huh???" Then the " Ooooooohhhhh" again from him.

Tonite he's learned to fly into the other room when the word bedtime is mentioned.....clever little bugger. But I always win....ha ha ha ha...
Just to show they will try different ways to get out of bedtime.

Now to tee my wife off, I have an actual Cow Bell, yeah cow bell that goes on a Cow, in his cage....when I win at getting him in cage, he gets pissed off and rings that god awful bell for 10 minutes or more....Mistake in getting that for him.... Gotta love um though.:09:

That is too funny!!! Espresso's new game is "I'm sorry I'm too busy playing with these toys over here to hear you ask me to step up."

Charlie's newest is to sit on the landing in front of his cage, tell me "come" and as I approach he slowly backs into his cage in a "lets see if you will fetch me out of my territory " game. If I turn around and walk away, these steps gets repeated..Lol.

"You can ring my be-ell" now I've got that song in my head.

He sounds like a real character.

That is so funny! Living with a clever pet is something else. My grey is not talking yet but practicing hard. When he says something that sounds like speech. We get all excited and go stand next to his perch. Then he would tilt his head and give us this look as if to say,"d'ya mind. I'm practicing here..."

I wish I had a CAG, they sound like real characters! So smart!:22: My 2 GCCs hate going to bed too. When I put them in their cage for bedtime, and start to pull out the sheets to cover them up, Sundance says, in a panicked voice, "whatcha doin? whatcha DOIN?! WHATCHA DOIN?????!!!!" then they both run to the bottom of the cage and try to peek out under the sheet, and Fiji tries a last ditch effort to get my attention by screaming, "GIVE ME A KISS! *kissy sounds*" Of course, the minute they are completely covered and I walk away, they quiet down.

Birds can be so funny! We laugh every day from their antics.:D

Zilla isn't a CAG but she loves to go to bed, even puts herself to bed and makes what I call her "nite nite" whine to get me to cover her cage. I just wish she wan't doing this at 6:30pm!

My quaker definitely knows when she wants to go to bed (usually beats us to it). She'll sometimes say "story" or "kickity kick" (which is a line from her bed time story). Otherwise she just acts *****y.

I'm going to put that bell where the sun don't shine on him....LOL...4 am my wife wakes me to say " your bird is ringing his bell at 4 am" ...half asleep I'm like What??? what bell? Oh that god awful bell....

Well removed it from cage and put it on his perch....now he rings it when he wants a treat....Off I go...Yes Master Grey what can I do for you????

Help I'm being controlled by a Grey!!!

Birds learn something new everyday....My Zons peak under their covers and now...They have total freedom...at night they sleep on their rope rings above their cage....cage is never locked unless I'm going away for a few hours...usually they stay out even then pretty trust worthy, my Grey...ha ha ha, nope, don't leave him on his own....lil guy will find trouble.
My senni is same way...."Ok dad, be gone, when you come back I'll have carved up the room and killed all the toys maybe even the dogs" lol....for a little parrot ( and he's quite petite for a Senegal) he has the terrorism of a bald eagle.....

My Grey is doing exactly that for bath time minus the talking lol. Suddenly seems to hate baths. Don't know why. I had to walk to his play gym so he could perch there to get him off my back several times.

Thanks...yeah he's a character....He tries to copy me in things I do...I've had several birds since the early 70's never seen ne pay this much attention in studying what I do, then find he tries to do same.

Today I let him on counter to watch me make chop as he sis and watches very carefully the amount that goes in ach dish....but he preferred to eat at the table with his bowl. He ( And this is too funny) takes a piece of food, climbs up my arm, reaches with foot and grabs my bottom lip and puts food in there. Then heads back down to bowl...if I take food out of my mouth that he put there, he'll come right back over to hand, take the food I took out of mouth, and up my arm he goes to put it back in my mouth and sit there till I eat it and show him it's gone
.....Bossy little feather ball he is....

ha ha ha ha...I can relate to tha...so I switched to shower perch and just hop in the shower with him and have a shower sing along ( ohhh don't tell the neighbors, they still haven't figured out what the awful racket is coming from...lol) My grey can (I swear) can run 150 miles an hour up my arm to middle of back when it's bed time.....catch me if you can attitude.

I'm sorry - that is really funny. I'm sure it's not at 4 in the morning.

HA ha ha ha....wanna bet?? Had him ring hat cowbell at 1 am before...one morning my dogs heard something outside apparently, and barked....(animal or deer) and then my Grey gets banging his cow bell...at 4 am!! Yep 4 am... I kid you not...

Heck with my dogs and parrots I have my own energy efficient security alarm system, complete with lethal bites on the hind end from dogs or birds.....ha ha ha...take your pick.

So funny!! How old is he? Hawk

He'll be 2 years old in April, end of April actually. He's quite the learner. And ok on talking.....

Says quite a few things actually. Has landing ( wing to feet coordination) down quite well and flies to me on demand...is potty trained, and chases dogs !!!! Poor dogs....lol.
