So I got to visit my soon to be new baby corella (bare-eyed too) baby today for the first time!
Although he's not sexed yet, the breeder believes he's a boy. I'll find out for sure later. I don't care either way though. His hatch date was 15th October, so he's 8 weeks old today. He's not weaned yet, but he's beginning to nibble at millet spray and some seeds.
When I held him, he stepped up, a little awkwardly as babies do. He allowed scritches, and was gently 'beaking' me to check me out. He even snuggled his little head under my chin for a bit. He was even 'mumbling' a little bit, trying to talk to me! Such a snuggly little sweetheart! The breeder says he's trying really hard to say 'hello' at the moment, awwwww!
He was sharing a cage with a baby galah of a similar age while he was in the shop, the breeder says he was preening the galah as soon as they were put together. So cute! Anyway, I'm so excited and the visit made my day!
