I usually talk about my parrots, but one of my other true passions is breeding finches.

There is something to be said for these little beauties.

They are strikingly beautiful, fly faster than lightning, and can be quite personable, and have wonderful personalities, even though we don't personally interact with them like we do with our parrots.

Usually by January, the sun changes and so do the birds. they become more chatty, happier, and wanting to start a family.

I have mostly canaries, 1 baby gouldian finch that I raised but I have two adorable cordon blue finches as well.

my male gouldian finch on the left(which is still young and has not coloured up yet, and my pair of cordon blue finches, female on the left, male on the right

this is Sugar- she's the one I rescued a few months back, still bald around the neck, but is now nesting :)

the green american singer is Tango-he is always by the cordon blues sides, seems a bit protective(which I think is adorable) and he sings AMAZING!!!

this is Mango- sorry you can't see her very well, but she is my favourite- she trusts me completely when nesting. I can lift her up check the eggs/babies and place her back in without flying off.

Are those Cordon Blues??? I love my canaries!!! :)

wow! I didn't know how colorful and beautiful canaries can be! canaries are awesome little guys! :D
