Now I personally attribute it to excitement as he was doing his little head bop far more than he usually does but is there anything for me to be concerned about?

Likely regurgitation (feeding behavior) than 'throwing-up. Connected to introduction, parenting, mating behavior. Much better than attacking the baby.

Even though he was a few inches away and it spread everywhere?

Vomiting is usually more violent sbd rgey shake their head side to side. And its liquid instead of thick ( usually)

Regurgitation they pump their neck or bob, bring it up in their mouth and try to feed it to something. Usually thick and white like oatmeal. Babies or young bird may not be as controlled...

So its hard to say from your description .

Congratulations on your sun. How many birds do you have now?

Hey there, Laura :)

Yes it is definitely the latter you described which is positive!

I gave my second GCC away to a local individual who is quite the bird specialist. He reminded me too much of Stitch :( as I brought them home roughly the same time.

I now have the two mentioned in the thread - A Caique (Gizmo) and baby Sun Conure.
