hey everyone,
i have alexandrine baby parrot. he has completed his weaning process few days ago and is learning to fly. yesterday night he flew but fell down(as he used to) but i saw that he was not able to walk properly. he scratches his head and holds things lightly by his injured foot. i prepared his hospital bed and put him in that bed for night( although he hates it and tries to come out and fly again and again). today morning i saw a little progress. he puts light pressure on that leg and usually curls up his toes nd stretches nd scratches. has he broken his leg?? there is no swelling nothing at all. he wants to be on his usual play stand. please help i m very worried about him.
thanks in advance

There is really no way of telling if they have a broken bone unless a vet does an X-ray. He could have done anything from bruising it or straining a muscle to breaking it or dislocating it. Only a vet can say for sure. Do you have an avian specialized vet in the area who can see him? Next best option is a exotics vet with avian experience.
