I have a Congo African Grey Parrot that I raised from a baby. She was hatched in June of 1990. I guess that makes me the resident expert on African Greys. I recently had an issue with her that turned out to be fatigue from laying eggs. I guess I have experienced every issue with her over the last two decades. She is loving to me and NEVER bites me. I trained her from an early age that Biting is not accepted.

She lives in a round cage that she loves. I feed her only pretty bird pellets and that has kept her healthy. I haven't taken her to a vet for 20 years. Primarily because it terrifies her. Of course if she were really ill I would. But from my experience, if the bird is ill it's probably too late.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone that has questions regarding African Greys. I can answer general questions about other breeds, but my experience is limited to African Grey.

It's funny, I met a guy with two beautiful Umbrella Cockatoos that he had since they were babies, for 20 years. They were beautiful, and had the most perfect plumage. He said he only feeds them Pretty Bird too.

African Grays are a pretty popular species on here, I'm sure you all can learn from each other.
