I have a Congo African Grey Parrot that I raised from a baby. She was hatched in June of 1990. I guess that makes me the resident expert on African Greys. I recently had an issue with her that turned out to be fatigue from laying eggs. I guess I have experienced every issue with her over the last two decades. She is loving to me and NEVER bites me. I trained her from an early age that Biting is not accepted.
She lives in a round cage that she loves. I feed her only pretty bird pellets and that has kept her healthy. I haven't taken her to a vet for 20 years. Primarily because it terrifies her. Of course if she were really ill I would. But from my experience, if the bird is ill it's probably too late.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone that has questions regarding African Greys. I can answer general questions about other breeds, but my experience is limited to African Grey.
