Mojo the magnificent Maximillian Pionus; Cecil the clowny Senegal; and, Timothy the shy, fearful Parrotlet
I recently got an iPod!! (Mojo is glad because he can't stand my kind of music!!). Just wondering what you all listen to?

I listen to (yes, I know I am 42 and grey, and should act like my age, but it just ain't happen'n!!) ROCK! Old, new and in-between.

Fave artists: Kinks, Buckcherry, Bad Company, The Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billy Squire, Jet, Joan Jet, Cheap Trick, Collective Soul, yada yada LOL

What's your faves??

My fave song: probably can't print the lyrics ... so here's a different favorite one:

The Kinks (artist), "Lola"

I met her in a club down in North Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like Cherry Cola
C-O-L-A Cola.

She walked up to me and she asked me to dance.
I asked her name and in a proper voice, she said, "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo Lola

Well, I'm not the world's most physical guy,
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola, lo lo lo Lola

Well, I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walks like a woman and talks like a man
Oh my Lola, lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo Lola

Well, we drank champagne and danced all night,
Under electric candlelight,
She picked me up and sat me on her knee,
She said, "Little boy won't you come home with me?"

Well, I'm not the world's most passionate guy,
But when I looked in her eyes,
I almost fell for my Lola,

Lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo Lola

I pushed her away. I walked to the door.
I fell to the floor. I got down on my knees.
I looked at her, and she at me.

Well that's the way that I want it to stay.
I always want it to be that way for my Lola.
Lo lo lo Lola.

Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls.
It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world,
except for Lola. Lo lo lo Lola. Lo lo lo Lola.

Well I left home just a week before,
and I never ever kissed a woman before,
Lola smiled and took me by the hand,
she said, "Little boy, gonna make you a man."

Well I'm not the world's most masculine man,
but I know what I am and that I'm a man,
so is Lola.
Lo lo lo Lola. Lo lo lo Lola

My birds seem to like anything with a good danceable beat ... especially Pix my rock-a-birdie and Bonnie likes to "sing" along; Serenity, she can't really often be bothered. They also like cartoons (yes I watch cartoons!), CSI, action movies, chick-flicks, and of course movies like Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean. Then again they also like flashy lights and shiny things :33:

Good thread Deanna!

I listen to mostly indie rock. I'm too lazy to name everything.

I also listen to a HILARIOUS podcast.

www.keithandthegirl.com

Download one show. Listen to it. You can't go wrong with these guys. The shows are about an hour long, and my personal favorite is number 380: Deuce's war. Enjoy

EDIT: the song in my sig ROCKS. It made me cry though, but only the first time I heard it. :(

I am presently getting that podcast quakerxxoats ... I have heard them before and forgot about them .... thanks! (gotta LOVE iTunes)

I want an ipod so bad but when I was adding everything up i was like I could get my quaker and a cage for the price of the 4 gig and speaker system and itunes i would want (big grin) - of course mom mentioned it wouldn't take up as much room and I wouldn't have to pay for vet bills although I think it would cost me about as much to feed it :)

so my current favorite artists:

*Brad Paisly
* Big and Rich
* Toby Keith
* Shania Twain
*Jo Dee Mesina
*Taylor Swift
*RASCAL FLATTS
* Martina Mcbride
---you get the drift - there are tons of songs I love but here are the lyrics to one of my favorite favorites right now cuz it's so ironically true

taylor swift - tear drops on my guitar

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see
That I want and I'm needing everything that we should be
I'll be she's beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she's got everything that I have to live without
Drew talks to me, I laugh cause it's so damn funny
That I can't even see anyone when he's with me
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right,
I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe?
And there he goes, so perfectly,
The kind of flawless I wish I could be
She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love
Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause
So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light
I'll put his picture down and maybe
Get some sleep tonight
He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only one who's got enough for me to break my heart
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
He's the time taken up, but there's never enough
And he's all that I need to fall into..
Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see.

Geez, how much do iPod's cost there!! I mean here (I have the 8 gig one) mine cost me $300 after taxes and the speaker dock would be about $100 from what I can tell. Music, well, there are "alternative" methods of obtaining that - no that *I* have done that, but "some" people do.

If a bird, cage, and all that goes with that costs what an iPod does, then damn, I wanna live there!

I got the Kids an Ipod for xmas last year, and spent nearly 2 weeks looking for where to insert the memory card, so that I would know what ones to get. I know I'm old,

My bands (anyone laughs there will be trouble :D)

Meat loaf,
Status Quo.
Country,
motown,
and my most fav of all,
The King himself, Elvis Presley.

And no I don't have an Ipod, I'm still using my trusty CD player. :D

iPods don't have memory cards ... they have a cable that transfers information and which charges the unit, but no removable memory. Anyways ... meatloaf is pretty cool; one of my first introductions was his appearance in Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Now see Peta, you aren't so old ... at least you didn't say you're using an 8-track player! LOL

I like Meatloaf too. I've not heard of Status Quo--is that rock? And, yes! Motown totally rocks--one of my faves out of the Motown bunch is Marvin Gaye.

:11poke: Ahem, umm, *clears throat*, my ma and pa taught me that iffen I didn't have anything good to say, to not say ANYthing at all. So, I just won't mention anything about Elvis. Nothing at all. I'll just keep my mouth shut and won't say a word, not one word. ... *DEANNA RUNS OUT OF THE FORUM ZIG ZAGGING AND DUCKING* ... :1218:

Wow Peta, some of us do exactly the same thing when we hear Elvis sing!! ... all kidding aside, I have a 19 y.o. guy on my staff at my studio who is an award winning Elvis impersonator ... Kelli, would you be interested in meeting him?!

I'm a country boy myself ... I like country and rock ... just depends on my mood I guess ... some people think I am crazy, but music isn't as important to me ... heck, I once bought a car without a radio and drove it that way for like 2 years ...

I HAVE to have the radio on i have 5 country stations saved so i just go from one to the other :)

one night i was up in another room misty was covered in her cage with the light off sound asleep and all the sudden she started whistling and chirping like crazy i went in there and

good morning beautiful by steve holy was playing so now i know that's Misty's favorite song :)

Kelli, would you be interested in meeting him?!

O a bit of matchmaking, and did ya notice Tex how Kelli, avoided that question. :D

of course I was only kidding ... it would never work out, he likes older women anyway ... ;) besides, that's a really long way to go ... trust me, I know I just did that trip ... BTW Kelli, how far are you (time wise only) from DFW?

I'm about 2 hours to the east edge of the dallas area closer to 3 to the Arlington six flags area.

so the blue 4 gig ipod i want is 200 the sterio deal is around 100 and i figure i need at least 50 for music to get started :) so thats around 350 when all is said and done
and i could get a quaker for 120ish and a cage for around 100 and i already have tons of extra toys and maybe just 5 bucks more a month for food cuz he could eat the same food as SIdney - so it's really hard to bring myself to get an ipod.
I know i don't have room for another bird I would Love a larger cage as mine is getting worn down and would be great for the teils but i would like a more practical one for sidney but again not enough room so we will see.
ok that was really random
and Peta, if you saw the lyrics to my current fav song i posted you'll know i'm through with men :) Sidney's the only boy I need :)::)
