Dec 14, 2024- I made art again today and I think it really spoke to my human because she collected it carefully with a bristled tree limb and saved it in a silver vault. I am so touched that she is organizing my museum collection. After she finished and sat down with that mysterious smelling brown water that she won't let me near I decided to say thank you by adding more deeply intense Spirit Art. Fly away fluffs and be free. Be free. Be. Now I sit and contemplate the great seedsons of life, and what it means to itch my feathers. Have you the Wing? Indeed. I feel more art stirring in my feathered breast but now I shall slumber softly. My right foot is on the path; the left rests in my bosom. Let there be Peas on Earth.

I, Vortex, agree- hoomans like to collect art, and that they always keep it in vaults. Her hooman likes her chewed-up pieces of wood and keeps some of them on her desk where the slobbery fur balls (Hooman calls them 'cats') play with them. The horribleness of them desecrating my art! **Fluffs up at the thought**

My grandflappy used to say "For everything there is a seed, son, and a thyme to every porpoise under the heavens." Perhaps your hooman is attempting to expose these "cats" to works of beauty in an effort to civilize them. A great work of patience, I'm sure, as they sound about equal to slugs on the evolutionary scale. Hence the slobber. Your charity is commendable.

My pet collects my dropped flight and tail feathers. She uses them to make dream catchers. Does she keep them? No she GIVES them away to family, sick friends and such. Claiming that they can soar away in their dreams. The negative dreams are blocked. Sounds good huh? Then why am I paranoid when she looks at my bright red and beautiful long flight feathers?

Human pets so often need developmentally appropriate encouragement to further their growth. Yours is obviously excited by bright colors. I would definitely incorporate that into their training. They are quite slow to understand our urgent need for perpetual goodies. Looking adorable and flaunting those red feathers may be crucial to achieving successful goodie manipulation.

I have a small gallery of m paintings and portraits on eBay. I also offer the Rickeybird's art. He is definitely my superior, artistically and spiritually.

May I offer one of my favorite literary inspirations?

“Hope” is the thing with feathers

By Emily Dickinson
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

I love you folks. I do. :)

My sometimes questionable sister gave my pet a shirt. Pet is laughing saying maybe Ms Dickinson needed a realistic view of some feathered souls!

Ah, but attitude is a necessary training tool. We have to keep the humans in line. It's a great responsibility, raising a human. Mine was sleeping during the day, so I stared at her until she turned over and saw me. I was able to elicit extra treats by looking sad and lonely.

My pet doesn't respond well to that. The pup/mutt desensitized her to soulful looks! When I blow kisses pet searches area for CAG-out damages! So that's an iffy thing to do. Open to suggestions?

I have my human well trained. I waddle over to an area that I can see through, but not walk or fly through. It mystifies me. I stand on the ground and look longingly at the wild outdoors that are beyond my reach without the help of my human. If she doesn’t notice, I make little squealing sounds to remind her that I must reach the wild beyond the barrier. My human then places me in my luxurious outdoor vacation condo (thanks for getting me on the 2nd home property ladder, humans!) where I enjoy the sunlight glinting through the palm fronds, the wind chimes tinkling in the breeze, the fountain playing its watery song and my small friends flying in to bathe in the bubbling water.

I rest. I slowly massage my head and neck with my too-long nails. Where is my nail lady when I need her? Where are my snacks? A pistachio and a cara cara orange would hit the spot right now.

It is so inspirational to hear of a well trained human. Mine is a little slow, bless her heart. She keeps trying to convince me to eat leafy greens. I've tried in vain to keep her from eating the deadly things which are obviously stunting her growth (she can't even fly), but to no avail. She even tried to make me hop two flaps for millet. Great thinkers do not need to hop two flaps. They need to be fed millet held within beak range. The sun did shine this morning and that makes her more active, so maybe I will try some training with her later, after my bath and meditation. I feel more poetry stirring beneath my feathers. I hope your nail lady gives you pistachios. You should charge pistachio interest if she is late.

You two have it better then me! My pet refuses to let me near a window, especially the patio. She bought me a cute little pet stroller. I am now forbidden to ride in it. She objects to me talking 'red tail hawk'. She strongly suspects me of being insulting. Can I help it if (s)he has a short feather? Can I help it if my pet worries about a hawk coming through a patio window? Can I help it my pet objects to being dive bombed the remaining mile walk back home? My pet does give treats but not as many as I deserve! Pet will show me my harness about ever two weeks. If I indicate that I want to go, we go for a car ride that doesn't end in the routine vet visit. My pet suspects me of having a few trickster feathers hidden somewhere.

Have you tried regurgitation? Perhaps she means "hock" and is so excited she doesn't want to share. Humans are so unpredictable!
That may work on some pets. My pet is a retired ER, CCU/ICU RN. She's used to humanity doing similar. She mearly asks me nicely, 'please don't.' Then distracts me with movement, TV channel change or similar. The only true fun is wet, warm poo on bare feet. Feet have to be bare!
