Mr Tee is officially now just “Tee”.....since he laid an egg last night lol. I had been waiting to go to the vet for annual checkups, as their vet is a couple hours away in an area that has a lot more COVID cases. I guess I can skip his DNA test now :).

So now I know that I have 5 girls and 1 boy. Strangely, none of mine have ever laid an egg until now. She doesn’t seem interested in it - it’s cracked and on the bottom of the cage. But I left it in there and gave Tee a cuttle bone for calcium.
This does explain why she was up 6g when I weighed her the other day!

It's kind of funny when stuff like that happens. For some odd reason I always thing any fid I had/have were chickys  I considered Smokey to be a girl, just by her looks..and attitude  But "she" never laid an egg in her twenty-eight years with me. Then Amy came along and it was the same thing. It wasn't until twenty-five years later that at one of "her" wellness checks I had them do a DNA test..I didn't do it earlier coz I knew they had to poke her and draw blood but this time they were drawing blood anyway to check his levels so I told them to draw enough for the dna test.
Imagine my suprise when I got a call a week later and was told "congratulations you have a boy!" I was living with a transgender for twenty-five years lol and didn't know. So...do I change his name to Amos? Nahhhh he's used to Amy and so am i. I even still call him a her/she most of the time..no biggie, At least with Beebs it was easy to tell he was going to be a boy :)

It was kind of funny this morning when I uncovered everyone....I looked in the bottom of the cage and asked him “What is that dude???” Lol. I’ve always called her Tee anyway, I was too lazy to add a Mr to the front of it - but that’s what her previous person named her. Poor Stanley is so outnumbered being the only boy in the flock.

Congratulation Mrs. or Ms. Tee!

They can surprise, took my presumed male goffins "Gabby" nearly 25 years to lay her first egg!

Congratulations on another girl! This story gave me a much needed giggle.
