So this morning I took my 3 birds downstairs to their outdoor cage before I left for university at about 7am. My mom hadn't told me that there would be painters coming in to paint a small part of the ceiling in our lounge, which I have to carry the carrier cage through when bringing them back to my room. I just got home and of course I would like to fetch the birds and bring them back upstairs to be with me and have some time out of the cage. I also have to bring them upstairs at some point today because they sleep upstairs.
Do you think that briefly moving through the room with fresh paint with them is too dangerous? I would just be carrying the cage through the lounge to get to a different room unaffected by the paint. I'm really worried about it, but I know staying in their cage downstairs is not something that they are used to and not something that I want for them, they might get stressed or upset. Will covering the cage with a towel or something at least partially prevent the fumes from affecting them? I really don't know what to do in this situation, any advice would be appreciated.
