Thanks, we will be praying and thinking positive thoughts.

i am just really hoping we can get through just removing the lump.
the vet is optimistic so that's comforting.

Strudel; he did mention that there is a high possibility that it will just keep growing back. i am going to hope for the best and go from there...right now i'm just thinking, at least i am trying everything i possibly can.

I am praying that everything is going to be all right. And you are definitely doing everything possible, and you caught it early.
Just take it one day at a time, and hopefully it won't grow back:)

Well, whatever Tubby's tumour was, that's what happened, but she had it for a LONG time. I can't remember how old she was when they finally lost her, but I'm not sure that she didn't live out her expected lifespan.

Were doing well, thank you for keeping us in mind!
i think we are just waiting now to see if it comes back :)
being positive about it!
he took another biopsy of the gum after he removed it and said he would call if it was anything concerning. that was last tuesday...so im a little nervous for a call today.

but he is now estimating her in the 5-7 range.
so that makes her our oldest pup. She has always acted like mamma dog. but she has obviously had a few litters before coming to us. I was always torn with her age estimate, she looked way too warn to be just 2 and she has this bow legged walk i'm assuming from the chains weight, but stuff like that doesn't effect your bone growth overnight. But they could have been put on when she was a puppy...But she has always played the hardest of the dogs. She has soo much stamina when in the yard! My one dog has fence aggression so he can only be let out with her because she doesn't bother with fence stuff, so he doesnt get frustrated with her when in adrenaline mode. So she will go out and play with him then wait outside while i call him in and let out the otherone waiting in her "i'm gonna getcha" stance.

its frustrating not knowing your animals story....

oops sorry...rambling....

Good luck Sadie.:) I hope you DON'T get a call. I know it's hard not to worry, but just focus on how much joy she brings you. She sounds like a real sweetheart.

Thank you for the update, and you are NOT rambling in the least. Your love for your animals shines through loud and clear. :)

I'll be thinking of you, and hope you won't receive any more bad news.

We know her story after she got her home with you and she's a very lucky girl.

(I could never understand why my adopted dogs' people never found them and got them back. Were they dumped, unwanted? Did somebody die? I just don't "get it" how dogs end up on the street, unclaimed by anybody)

....well....

its back, and double the size.
i wasn't going to bother you all with it, but everyone was so supportive and involved in her, i felt bad not updating.

we went in this morning to the vets and we agreed to just let it run its course. Our other options were removing most of her upper jaw or radiation. He just told me to watch for weight loss or excessive mouth bleeding...and told us we would know when its time ....

he irritated me a bit and didnt tell me how long we had, i like to prepare for these things.

thanks again everyone! no worries, i think im accepting it now... she has been a little weird lately and resorting to the fears she had when she was first rescued (being scared to walk on hard floors) but only on occasion and other times she is fine with them.

She had it made here, just wish she could have had the good life sooner.

thanks again everyone for your support!

GASP! I am so sorry!!!! :( Oh gosh, this instantly made me cry. :(

THANK YOU for taking her in, taking such excellent care of her, and giving her a good life!!

HUGS to you and the sweet pup.

I HATE cancer!!!! :(

I am so sorry to hear your update:( I had been hoping for the best.
Thank goodness she has you by her side through this, and you both will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sorry to hear this update. Poor pup... She is in good loving care to keep her comfortable as possible now, and that means a lot. It's so hard when we love the, so much.

thank you, like i said i hesitated posting because i didn't want to be a downer, but you all had so much invested in her outcome.
the dog we lost to mammary cancer years ago was playing like a puppy one minute then she had a seizure and passed quickly in our home. i am hoping the same quick outcome for harley.

i am accepting her going, just scared to watch it unfold.
she has been fun the couple years we have had her and she has been such a joy to watch grow ,overcome her obstacles, and learn what life was all about :)

Thanks everyone and sorry to be negative.

I have just seen your post for the first time and read it all. I also have tears running down right now. I also remember the pain of loosing a couple of mine over the years to cancer., and my heart goes out to you and your family. Did they give you pain medication for the dog I hope? It seems like some vets to me don't take a pets pain as serious as a persons because pets try very hard to mask it. It is always one of my first questions if after a proceedure that I feel would hurt, and I insist on it. Hugs to you . Alison

I'm sorry, he's a lucky boy to have had his home with you, regardless of the unfairly short time he'll get. :(

thank you both, we are definitely letting her live it up! Getting to pick toys at the pet store and trying to get her on as many outings as we can. We are going to make her life mean something :)
