More Zoe pics, just because

How exciting!!! I'm glad everything turned our like y'all wanted. :)

Seriously looking into a BTM since there's a few breeders in Texas..

They're quickly rivaling the greater vasa as my dream bird hehe. Maybe in a few years.

Girl I know you, you would end up with so many parrots if you could lol :D

Only if I could ...

As much as I talk about all these different parrots I'm really very picky when it comes down to it actually happening.. Lol. I feel like even if I had the space and the money I would take forever to decide just because I know I can't be in 100 places at once! But a girl can dream, right?

Yay!!!! Congrats Zoe is a girl!!! [emoji4]

Btw- I'm on #3 but I'm not sure I could convince the hubby lol

They just called Karen and told her Zoe is officially a girl! Yay!!

YAY !!!

kinda seems like it was just meant to be, doesn't it?!

How about that !!
I am SO Happy for you Karen!!

There could be one problem though.... If Zoe bonds to you more :D
(I know my daughter gets "mad" when I bond to our birds "more" than her LOL)

Shhhh Joe, she better not. My better half will kill me.

When we got her they were guessing on the hatch date (they thought July) but they managed to find the original paperwork and her hatch date is 4/9/13.

Awww, that's wonderful to know Zoe is a girl and to know her hatch date!!

I wouldn't worry too much about that stuff. These little guys will generally go to anyone who wants to play or cuddle with them. They really are one of the easiest macs that way...

Setting them down on the other hand, can sometimes be a bit more problematic.

We've discovered trying to put her back on the tree or cage can be a lot like getting gum off your shoes. You pull one section off just to discover another section stuck to you. She has surprisingly strong claws too.

I'm laughing, but I know exactly what you mean... and my RFM will sometimes just go limp and keel over on her side, if it's a perch. My greenwing does what I refer to as the "birdie backpack" maneuver. She holds onto my shirt collar with her beak, and maneuvers the rest of her to the center of my back where she knows I can't reach. Then holds on with both feet... "PLEASE, PLEASE, DON'T PUT ME DOWN!"

THE WORST ONE OF THOSE I EVER HAD WAS AN OVERLY FRIENDLY HYACINTH - BOTH FEET AND A BEAK ON MY ARM AFTER TWO HOURS OF BEING A FAVORITE BIRD TOY - DOING "WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED!"

Congratulations on your new family member. BTM are wonderful parrots and I am sure you are going to have many wonderful years with Zoe. Thank you for sharing your pictures and her story with us.

I love RFM's and BTM's. I wish so badly I could handle living with both species but I know my limits. With all that Valentino is it would be double all of that and more. Wendy Craig had one male BTM the following season after I got Valentino in witch the buyer had to pull out so the male was available. I was so tempted to get him and have him come home but I know it would of been too much for me. I did picture both the BTM and Valentino hanging off of me and both demanding attention from me at the same time. I take Valentino on play dates with a couple that has a BTM and I am in awe of their boy and LOVE him.

I still get that twing to bring home a BTM but I must be strong and concentrate with Valentino and our situation for now. Someday I will get another companion for our small family to help with the need for a flock and companionship. Two parrots and I would be perfect.

Enjoy your Zoe and please keep us updated with her progress and adventures.

Thank you! Valentino is gorgeous and it would be so much fun having one of each, but at the same time I'm not sure I could handle the chaos. It would kind of be like having twins :)
