It occurred to me that you may like to see where I got the Professor from.
In Australia its not unusual to find many cockatoo species at the foot of trees after they fall out nests. This is how the Professor came to be the tame monster he is. The place that asked me to take him on was called Minton Farm. http://www.mintonfarm.com.au/index.htm The web site is a little rudimentary, but people from other countries may be interested to see what becomes of our native animals here in OZ. Minton farm has sponsorship of individual amazing animals, so if you cant own an exotic animal, you could sponsor one in your name or sponsor a bird who needs it for xmas in the name of someone who cant have pets. We talk on these forums about the welfare of the birds we care for, yet Minton farm looks after hundreds of animals with no Government funding at all. Even if you wallet is empty, maybe send them a message of support from some of the far flung places this forums reaches.

I hate to sound dramatic, but If not for Minton Farm we would never have seen this fellow living a happy life.
