Might be adopting a large bird from CL soon

I just reached out to the owners and offered to help them turn his bird into a mush mac if they're willing to work with him. They sound like they want him to be a companion bird, but just have no experience.

Military Macaws tend to be a challenge too from what I hear, and this bird is part Military Macaw. The bird sounds wicked smart, I'll say that much. At least he looks healthy and cared for. I hope they decide to give him another chance and use proper advice.

Militaries tend to be beaky,,,

What exactly does beaky mean? Does this mean a hard nip on a weekly basis or loosing a finger twice a day?

I'm going to be visiting a macaw that was given to the shop after the previous owner moved. I have already met the bird once, now my wife and I decided to get a little more serious and call back. The phone call lasted for well over an hour! :D

I'll keep an eye out on the classifieds for birds that are up for re-home, but for now I think I'll be good working with something that is a little more reliable*; I'm in a remote area so it's hard to get around quick.

*it's really hard to drive 3 hours to find that something changed and find I'm not going to be meeting anyone
