Michael Vick now has a parrot in his home...

This is just appalling, a bird keeping friend who has been very helpful as I educate myself and prepare for a new bird in my family sent me this article:

Personally I don't think anyone who is capable of the kind of cruelty that he inflicted on his dogs should be allowed to own so much as a goldfish. There should be a lifetime ban on pets of any kind if he is living in the same household. Sorry Vick kids. But I know my children learned how to love and care for animals from me and by watching my example...

I hope the world (and especially the bird community which is why I am posting this here) truly is watching and that the threat of more bad publicity will keep this bird safe. I'm not trying to start a debate, I just thought fellow bird lovers would like to know.

I have been in that store! I much prefer Bird Paradise in Burlington NJ more than Todd Marcus's. I don't think he did his buisness any good by selling Vick's that bird. He is going to get a lot of bad PR.

Omg I've been wanting to go to Bird Paradise!! Only thing is it's 2 hours from where I live so it's hard to find time to get there . I'm hoping to check them out soon .

Bird Paradise is less than an hour from me, I was going to take the children there this weekend to see all the beautiful birds and get them used to the sounds, sights and smells in preparation for adopting a bird.
