I took merlin outside for the first time today! He was in his aviator harness and an avianfashions hoodie over that to keep him warm it was 48 degrees Farenheight out and so sunny no wind. As soon as we went out the door into the sun he was just staring in awe and he stretched his wings out to bask in the sun i guess haha he just clung to me though he loved looking around and bwing in the sun! We were only out for about 10 minutes cause it was his second time in the earness and i had to walk my grandmas dog. He really enjoyed it though i am just so happy for him because he lived his life in a basement with no windows before i got him and ever since hes been with me he loves looking out the windows and him being able to go out now i love it as much as he does!!!!

Is he a hybrid?? The colors are gorgeous. It is so cute that he got to go out and feel the sun and see life outside a basement. I can imagine how happy it must have made him. I love the orange hoodie too!!

A friend of mine knew this lady that was a cockatoo, african grey, and macaw breeder and the lady had just been overwhelmed with birds and was downsizing and she wanted Merlin to go first cause she had no female to pair him with that he wouldnt self mutilate over and Camelot macaws are my fave bird so my mom drove me 2 hours to go see him and the lady had good intentions about her birds but man she was in over her head, the breeders and Merlin were all in aviarys in her basement and it was so smelly and there were so many cockroaches she really did try to care for her birds but it was just too much for her. he was said to be aggressive but i watched him for a while and i decided there was no way i wasnt taking him home so she got him out for me and he sat on my arm and i put him in the travel cage and took him home.

Merlin is gorgeous. I'll have to keep an eye out for those harnesses. We have a couple that are... I don't know, nylon rope stuff. They're very stiff and seem hard on a body, even a feathered one.

he is stunning Marcia!!
what an indescribable joy it must be for a bird to feel the sun for the very first time!!

only a loving parront such as yourself can bring him that, I couldn't be happier for the both of you!!!
