Grace, I can't believe how fast they're growing! Both of them are darling.

Today we named our little girl Rose. The pied will be named by my friend Tina. I know her well and from church. She is so excited to know her baby is on the way. I've been socializing them for about a week now. The whole family holds them for a big each day though not all at once.

At what age can they start going on short outings ? Introduce harness?

I touch and look at wings daily.

Both of them look fantastic! KUDOS to you and the babies' parents, too.

Once they are fully feathered and somewhat coordinated, I'd say you can start harness training. The same with taking them for outings.

You can start working on harness training now! I just wouldn't recommend taking them outside until they are fully feathered and more grown.... but you can start the basics now!

I disagree with Monica about the harness training at this age. Wouldn't all the incoming feathers be a bit irritating if a harness were to be put on?

It's a personal choice, I guess.

You don't need to tighten the harness, just get the bird used to the concept of something being on them! First, draped over them, then under the wing, get them comfortable with putting their head through a loop.... but not actually putting it on until a later time.

Oh they are so so cute. I avoid the baby pictures normally. It makes me want another Fid.
