Oscar sure is a cutie! His colors are so vibrant; what a beautiful bird.

It's so funny how his neck extends twice it's length when he wants something from your hand. :D

Thanks, he really glows in the sunlight. Most people think he is fake.

Oscar is a handsome boy :), we have quite a few members here owned by Ekkies and I'm sure they'll agree as well.........

Welcome to our wonderful crazy forum

Browse around, lots of info, loads to share and learn
Oscar is so "cute" he does look fake, like he is too perfect
It looks like his beak has been glued on
He reminds me of a birdie cartoon character, maybe Oscar should make his way to Hollywood

Enjoy the ride

Welcome to you and Oscar! I have a 1 yr old eckie named Puffin and also get people asking me if it "is a real bird" but Puffin usually lets them know before I get a chance to answer with a "Hello" or a "what are you doing" LOL.

BEAUTIFUL!!!

OT*** I see you're from Ontario(atleast i think i see that), would you mind saying which breeder ou got your eckie from???

Thanks.

You are correct (Ontario). The funny thing is that I don't know who the breeder is. When Super Pet was still around (Not taken over by PetSmart) they had a huge bird section (1-2 Macaws, 1-2 Cockatoos, Quakers, Conures, Budgies & Cockatiels). We had 2 Cockatiels that we were buying Christmas toys and treats for, and just decided to walk by to see all the birds. We had never seen an Eclectus before and were spell bound, I stuck my finger in the cage and Oscar (The manager of the store called him Daimen) stepped up onto it and didn't get off! We were really surprised to see how affectionate Oscar was and stayed with him for an hour or so. Money was tight and laying out 3g's for a new bird, toys and cage was not in the budget. We knew that Birds in that store don't last long (People buy them), so I figured out a mathematical formula that made sense at the time (LOL) and took the plunge. 2 days later Oscar was a part of the family. I truely believe that you don't pick the bird, the bird picks you. Well that happened in our case.

Yea, Super pet really cared about the birds. It was the super pet in Cambridge.

That is one nice looking bird, I've always planned on getting a female, now you got me back to square one lol.
