Parrots
Seven cockatiels, Pepe (gray pied) and Miko (lutino), and Lola (pearl), Josie (cinnamon) and Jose (whiteface pied). Coco is pure white male and Rocky is gray pied. Lilac Crowned Amazon - Chu Chu
Hi, I'm Sunny in Mexico. I had hoped my cockatiels would provide me with babies that I could hand raise and finally have the pet bird I longed for, but no one seems so inclined. They like the fun part, but no eggs. Then yesterday I saw the ad for a parrot for sale. I answered thinking there was little chance it would be all that the ad described. But Chu Chu came home with me today and he's wonderful. A Lilac Crowned Amazon raised by an older couple since he was 4 months and he's 2 years now. He says 20 different phrases, loves dogs, enjoys meeting new people and has a easy going temperament. If my cockatiels never lay an egg it's Ok, Chu Chu demands lots of attention and I'm happy to accommodate.

Many congrats on Chu Chu! I'm so happy that you found each other. :) He truly sounds like such a sweet bird! We'd love to see some pictures if you have some to spare. :)

Is Chu Chu the one in your avitar?

I wish my tiels would stop having babies right now as you've been trying with yours....I have babies galore right now....lol

Congratulations, I'm so glad you checked out the ad and found Chu Chu. Sounds like a great solution for both of you.

AWWW, my Chihuahua is named Chu Chu!! He is the only Chu Chu I ever knew. That just caught my eye. And, amazons were always one of my "favorite" birds (I just looove them but I never had the opportunity to have one.) Good luck with him.

Awww, congratulations! If that is Chu Chu in your avatar, he is gorgeous!
Looking forward to hearing more about him and seeing more pics:)

Yes that is him in my avatar. It's the picture that was in the ad. Since he has known only one home and two people, I will have to be patient while he settles in to this new environment and routine. My cockatiels were curious, but didn't display any fear and I put his tree gym next to the cage and opened the door. He ate well and played with all the new toys, then came over and sat in my lap before climbing down and returning to the comforting security of his gym and cage. Along with new fruits and veggies, I'll see how he likes Jalapena Chili peppers. After all he's Mexican.
