Buddy - green cheek conure; Luna - yellow crowned amazon; Bella - miniature dachshund; Schatzie - affenpinscher; RIP Boudreaux - timneh african grey
Well, we did it! Today we adopted a 20 yr old timneh! He is beautiful, funny....we fell in love right away! He's already loving the scratches and fitting right in with our family. The only thing he does right now that is scary is his laser gun impression! LOL Scared the pants off us! Buddy, too. He didn't know WHAT to think!!!

The only way I can describe is that it sounds like a laser gun..like a crazy sci-fi laser gun on a video game or something. It is fuh-reaky! Sounds just like one! And his microwave and water cooler impressions are pretty good, too! LOL

Hello Boudfreaux and mommy welcome to our awesome forum.
He is beautiful, looks very healthy as well.
Get ready for many many strange, wonderful and scary sounds
Enjoy the forum

hes adorable and sounds like such a wonderful bird, its also great you adopted him! welcome!

Congratulations on your new bird... He's gorgeous...

Hello there. You are blessed to have a 20 year old Timmy. I recently learned that if a parrot is 20 or over they are considered to be senior birds. I have a TAG named Rosie. She has been and will continue to be a bright spot in my life. How is his diet?

He's on a pelleted diet! Woot woot! And he eats a mash every morning, which his previous owner gave me the recipe how much to give him. He loves cheetos I guess, which I haven't given him. I felt like a mean mo this morning...I handed him a baby carrot which he enthusiastically grabbed and started nomming...and dropped because it wasn't a cheeto!!!! I'm definitely open to any suggestions for items your greys love. :D

He's a sweet boy - will step up immediately on a stick and some on fingers although since we're just getting to know each other he's only stepped up on me a couple times. And I know we shouldn't let him on our shoulder until we know each other better, but he stepped right off the cage onto my shoulder a couple times and I just went with it. LOL He wants to be on the floor though. Which only makes me nervous because of our two dogs. I don't want a confrontation, which seems more to happen because Bu attacks the dogs and not the other way around, based on his reaction to their nose sniffing at his cage! I suppose I should post another thread about the floor issue.....

Congratulations on your new addition, he is so good looking. Im glad he has found a wonderful home :32::D

Thanks all! :)

:D Cracking up on the cheetos/carrot thing. I have a two year old boy I'm trying to convince that carrots are not evil as well. Bordeaux is one handsome fella!

Congrats on your new member to the flock! Boudreaux is a beauty. There is a grey at my local bird store and he makes the loudest, scariest laser noise! He does that whenever somebody passes his cage. I always jump whenever it happens, lol. Congrats on your new grey! =)
