Mature Yellow Nape

My Jakiepoo is getting so much yellow lately. Jake is a 41 yr old hen parvipes Yellow Nape. Just thought i'd share,she's the love of my life. Notice her yellow collar ?

Yup, since she was about 3wks, LOL She just started turning real yellow in the last few years.

She is gorgeous, its amazing how they change. Merlin as 3x as much red on his head as when he was a baby.

I need to ask you, after his recent molt, he grew a yellow feather on his head. Have you ever seen a mrh amazon w/yellow feathers on their head?

Yes i've heard of that , not uncommon, i've seen older Napes with a red feather or two also. I think most species of amazon yellow as they age.( except the Blue mutation YNs and they turn white)

What an absolute beauty! Do YNAs gain more yellow as they age? Kazi has a bit on his forehead and a small patch on his nape. I'm curious if there's anyway to tell age based on feather coloration since Kazi's band was removed before he came to the shelter.
