See siggie :)
A few days ago, I noticed Marigold had a lump near the vent. I was worried, and started researching tumours. Then I was looking through the old pictures of my camera and found one of Marigold when she was eggnant! I compared it to Marigold's bum and they were the same. Then I looked up from the camera again and Skye and Marigold were mating! I watched her for a while and she showed some nesting behaviours in the seed bowl ( kicking up seed, sitting in there ). During the clean out yesterday, I put a divider in the cage ( across the middle ) and put Skye and Marigold in the top bit with a nest box and the rest down below. And now we have an egg!!! It was laid off the perch so I've put it in a container of seed ( so it doesn't start developing ). I'm not sure whether she laid yesterday or this morning, so that should be interesting.:D

Congratulations; that's fantastic news! Hooray for Marigold!

Oh, please let us see the babies! You know how we love pics. ;)

No problems! Pics are now a number one priority! Actually, I might get a picture to show you how small the eggs are!

Here is the egg next to a USB cap. The USB cap is about 1 1/2cm long and wide. The egg was laid off the perch so I am waiting for Marigold to lay another in the box before I put this one back ( it hasn't been incubated, they can last a week without being incubated without any damage done ). The parents have been mating all day and Marigold has been inside the nest box about 5 times while I have been watching.

They got a mix of seed, weet-bix, corn, carrot and boiled egg today for lunch.
Here are the parents.

You are blessed to experience such a wonderful event.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Maybe, if I wasn't keeping them, or if you were closer. I handle them from two weeks onwards so they are tame even 6+ months later. No more eggs as such BUT I'm not totally sure of the date this one was laid. It was either yesterday or the day before and they lay every two days.

Baby pictures are always great. Can't wait to see them out of the shells.

Great Pictures... thanks for sharing.. and
Congrats on the eggs... I know you are so excited..

Thanks for all those pics, they're great!

Like HRH said, I'm interested in seeing the babies too. ;)

That's fantastic!!!! Congratulations grandma!!! lol. Seriously, I'd love to see some pics of the whole hatching process, if you can.

Well, Marigold laid another egg but it was cracked by the clumsy dad I believe, so it had to be chucked out. I have changed the box design to the one I used last time and it seems to be working.

Congrats Ratzy! :) and thanks for sharing the experience....

Third egg!!!!!! IN THE NEST BOX THIS TIME!!!!! I moved the egg that was laid off the perch into the box. YESSS!!
