Hi Dactyl!

He sure is very prehistoric looking. Does his eyes pin and flash like a true parrots? Also, do the feathers/hair around his nose serve any particular purpose beyond looking good for other.... dactyls (what is Dactyl again? Some kind of toucan?)?

I have not seen his eyes pinning, so am not really sure if he does that. I think the bristles are just to attract Lady Dactyls (that made me laugh!) as they don't seem to serve a purpose other than getting food caught in them. I wish so much that I could find him a girlfriend, but have been unable to find another one up here anywhere
He is a Bearded Barbet, and is in the Toucan family

I love budgies' eyes. They are just so unique, with that bright white iris against the dark pupil!

This is a supernova

And this is my birds eye at close to maximum pinning. He has the energy of an exploding sun in his eyes and when those eyes are saying something to you, you best watch out (Disclaimer: In this photo, he was actually just excited and happy about his bath. His eyes go all crazy when he's wet!)

P.S. Mods- Any idea why it's sideways or how to fix?

I wish i captured Xanders eyes the first time he saw a dog, it was priceless but ill catch him in the act soon. Great pictures everyone x
