Just stopping by to say hello with my boy Mango. He's as fun as ever, but is still chewing his neck, breast feathers :(
He loves to snuggly AND talk.....ALOT:D
He seems to leave his down feathers, he has some finally coming back, keep trying to keep him from overpreening. That's a full time job in itself! Feathers or not...he knows he's loved!:)

Lol we were watching Jeepers Creepers (1st one) and I have been, apparently, whistleing the tune....now he is! Well almost. He kept saying Merry Christmas and then whistle the tune...within a day he will have it perfected.

The chicken says he sure is puurrty! She really had to get a look at my screen when I pulled up the picture. :09:

Good to see you, again! How have you been?

I'm so sorry Mango has continued plucking, despite how hard you've been working to discourage it. It's unfortunate that parrots are such creatures of habit, and that plucking that initially had a cause can simply become a habitual behavior. But I know that you love him enough to keep trying. If there's a way, I'm sure you'll find it.

Does Mango still do his stealth flight routines around the house? What are you guys up to these days?

I'm determined one day to get him to stop chomping his feathers. I originally thought it was an itching thing, but he bathes everyday to every other day. He loves showers. Been still doing his stealthy flying, and boy is he becoming quite the acrobat! He likes to fly from the curtain rod swoop down almost touching the floor only to climb very fast to tag the other curtain rod. Do a funny flip and turn around towards the other one and do it all over again. Now, he has made a few collisions with us as he will dart down the hall and as we come out of another room, he'll collide ever so softly into one of us, usually our chest. Almost like slowmotion, he does hover very good too! I'm certain if he couldn't fly he wouldn't be near as happy:).

You and Mango have sure been missed! It is so good to see that gorgeous boy:)
I'm sorry he is still plucking:(

Hello Mango! What a cutie! My Coqui has just started picking due to hormones in the spring. I'm afraid of it becoming a habit, too. I understand what you are going through. Hang in there!

Hey Craig and Mango :D. Great to see you back! I miss your fun posts. Nice work with Mango, he sounds like such a happy, talented little guy. Have you thought it might be hormonal plucking?

Yes I have, he does his little regurgitation thing and whispers "tickle tickle" while rubbing his head against the side of mine....than I have to put him up cause he won't stop unless I do. Not sure how long this hormonal thing lasts, but I hope it's soon!
