my green cheeks have 2 eggs, the bird sitting on the eggs quite a bit is the "male" and the bird always kind of guarding the doorway to the box is the "female", I have had her for almost 5 years and got him a couple months ago. my question is did both of the people get the sex wrong or do the males sit on the eggs more than the females??

I don't breed conjures. However IMO it sounds like you have two hens. I always DNA. It saves so much trouble.

Have you done your research on how to raise chicks and proper breeding??? Many things can happen and you need to understand on how to deal with them when they arise. IF both were hens then you haven't got the understanding part down yet. Please be advised to understand the meaning and do your research before ever attempting to breed or raise chicks. It is very time consuming job all on it's own.

My female is the one that sits the eggs while the male guards the nest. I've read that the male will help with incubation too but for the most part and in my short experience the male pretty much is the sentry and female the sitter.
Either you or the people you got your birds from could have guessed wrong on their genders. The only way to make sure is to DNA sex them or wait to see if any babies hatch from the eggs. If you do get babies then most likely (to me anyways you may have to DNA sex anyways to be sure) your assumed male is female and the assumed female is male.
