Male interested in nesting box

I have recently paired up my IRN and the male is in and out of the nest box, The female just sits at the other end of the cage preening.
She doesn't seem to be interested in the male at all. She doesn't show any sign of mating this year. She is 3 and I live in Brisbane Australia so its quite warm here atm.
The male dose continuously run up and down the same perch, which is located directly outside the nest box.
My male has his full colours and is 3-4 years old.
Could anyone shine some light on this situation for me please

Are they eating enough? From what I've been reading, abundance of food is the other trigger besides temp and daylength for them to think it's viable to breed.

Other than that, I've got no idea, sorry. Have you gotten to know any other breeders in your area? I'm sure local help would be useful.

By placing a pair of birds together does not mean they will pair up and have babies just because there's a nest box. Pairs can be choosy on their mate and that's why I usually have multiple ones where they can pick their own mates.

MikeyTN I think they r a little stressed as I have been trying to wean them onto pellets from seed. I have been using your method that you suggested three bowls with different contents. but they would be stressed for that reason .
The male is showing interest but the female isn't I have two other males I can try with her but I truly think its a food issue atm.

When you try changing food, don't allow them to breed. You need to concentrate on the food part and once that goes good for awhile then allow breeding. Never do two things at the same time as it will stress them out.
