Does anyone on here have pics, step by step, on how to make a T-stand out of PVC pipes? Ive read about it and seen it before, but dont really know how its done. I get the idea that one pipe goes into another one, one with a hole through and you glue it. But was more wondering how to get the stand, well, standing? How do you get it to stand in a big tupperware box thing or something like that?

I think its supposed to go into sand or sommat like that, I'd have to mount it on a base I think, a lot more secure for the guys. :D I'm sure that somewhere I had one of these written down, I'll go look for it.

Still looking. Maybe when Kelli post pics we can work it out from there.

Aah, never thought of doing it like that:eek: . Thanks alot, and it looks so easy to make. Yours look great! If i were closer, i would've paid you to make me one. Hm, i guess im a bit on the lazy side when going to the hardware store, hate it! I'm definetely gonna make me one of those, cause at the moment i murderized a whole tree for a stand for Kodie, and what does the mr do...Chew it up:eek: !!! So now its sqeaky's favourite place, one hell of a big tree, will post pics soon. So atleast they'll all have a place to sit now!!!:D

nice thing about pvc is it is CHEAP so you can just replace it just make sure you sand the perches very easy but you will get little white strips everywhere.

Tell ya what Wilma, make your way to the UK and then we'll travel to the USA together and then Kelli can make us both some. :D :D Get Busy Kelli :D :D

Sounds like an idea, travel the world in 48 hours with two crazy birdy lovers!!!! Dont worry, this is going to be my next mission for the Holiday! Starting with my diy projects!!:D

I love Kelli's idea! However, if you take a flat (like, only one inch) think board that's about those dimensions, screw a sheet of plexi glass on top and then screw the PVC to that, you get one you can hose off without worrying about the shavings.

For extra grip, because PVC is slippery, take some vet wrap and wrap it around the perches makes a really nice, colorful playstand that is easy to use, make and the fids love it!

Hey Kelli, where did you get the plastic rings from? Not the chain links but the removable rings? I have some but have no idea where they came from, lol!

Hi BirdCrazy.
I'd love to see your pvc T-stand.
Any chance that you could repost your pic/s?

cheers :)

This is quite an old thread, so the original posters may not be around to reply. But it's still an interesting topic.

Something to note - any hardware store will sell not only PVC pipes of various sizes, but also a variety of connectors which cuts out a lot of the drilling, cutting, and gluing. There are T-connectors to make to make the top, and multi-way connectors that could be used to make a base (one pipe goes out vertically, and 3 or 4 others go out parallel to the ground).

Not in LieLand mate. :)

It's a desert here..... the only PVC fittings here are bright blue!!!
& very little choice of fittings.
I'll have to bring white pvc pipe from Aus & import white fittings from the USA. :(
We have huge supermarkets here and zero products for birds.

Seed etc. can only be bought in the Public Outdoor Markets.

I've never seen a bird toy here.

cheers, and thanks for responding.

Ah yes... well I don't know if shipping would be too expensive, but many major hardware stores take internet orders and ship just about anywhere. But I was taking it for granted that I can just walk down the isle of a home depot and pick the various flavors of connectors that would work best.

This ain't Kansas, Dorothy. :D:D:D
It's even worse in Cambodia, Burma & Vietnam.... I don't know about our Islamic neighbours down south.
