Got our Bubba almost 3 weeks ago and so far things are good but not great. He loves my 2 girls especially the older one. Me he basically hates and thought it was because of me be male. Then my nephew came to town and he was fine with him. Every time I hold him he stiffens up and wont relax and let me scratch his neck or head.

Very concerned about his diet. Right now it seems that he will only eat sunflower seeds. We got the same seed mix that he is used to and still he picks through it. Tried all types of fruit and not even a taste. He will eat just a tiny amount of noodles or scrambled eggs.

Any help in working with him or ideas is appreciated.

I don't have a MM ,but Ive had 4 Toos. Don't worry they can be horrible eaters . Mine take everything and throw them out of their bowls. But then I see later , them on the bottom eating . Just keep offering foods [it can change over time].

I have a U2 and he does the same thing. Throws the food on the floor and then later he eats it. He hated me until I took him to the vet and then several days later I became his best friend. :) Being at home was more fun than being at the vets.

He loves corn and he gets it maybe three times a week. The vet told me to only give him a couple of slices of apple a week. He will eat butter beans when he wants to. I try to give him a mixture every night so he has a choice. Just keep offering a variety and let him decide what he wants to eat. Do they waste a lot of food? Yes, but you aren't giving them that much.

I finally got rid of the seed mix and now I only offer him Avi-cakes (I'm trying to fatten him up) and pellets. He doesn't eat a lot of pellets but I do see him eating some. Some days he will eat an almond and some days he throws them on the floor of his cage and will later go down and get it and eat it. I leave them in the cage (unless they are in the poo) until he eats them. I clean up and them put them back.

My U2 loves the yogurt covered mango treats. Try giving a treat to him that you know he likes and let that be your special time until he relaxes more around you. You have probably tried all of these but try them again.

Be glad he likes your kids. You would be more upset if he wasn't getting along with them.

You might try the trick of eating something and offering him a bite after you've taken a bite. Some birds will take food if they see you're enjoying it.

Yes it works with mine most of the time... The treat she prefers over anything is a wallnut in its shell! It's a real show to see her trying to go to the spot where she wants to eat it and then trying to crack it and slowly eating it... Lol!

Do you have facial hair? Does your nephew have facial hair? Do you have long hair? Does your nephew have long hair? Is your voice deep? Is your nephews voice deep?

Bubba could be picking up on something that is specifically different about you that your nephew and daughters share in common.

You might try removing sunflower seeds from Bubba's diet, then using the seeds specifically for training!

You might also need to try presenting foods in various ways! Be creative! Try sprouted seeds over dry seeds!
