Made some avicakes last night since the packaged kind are fairly expensive but my birds love them! This one was a quick batch where I threw in whatever I had.

I used some seed mix, coconut flakes, crushed almonds, rolled oats, wheat bran, one banana mashed, freeze dried fruit (mix, apples, corn), little honey, little molasses, and cinnamon. Mixed completely between each ingredient. Cooked on 250 in the oven for about 45 minutes. Next time I'll do 200 degrees for an hour, flip, and then maybe another half hour, since the bottom was still a little damp. Scored them, let them cool, then cut them apart.

Seems to have been a hit! Just got some other things in the mail for the next batch!

Hmm have you been stalking A Helping Wing on facebook:p

You can also grind up left over food in a nutribullet like their pellets and dry mixes that they don't finish eating and put that in the avicakes.

Haha, a little bit, but I've been going through posts on the forums too! I love to bake and I love trying new things with my birds to get them to eat more variety!

Oh! I forgot one other thing, Pure PB powdered peanut butter. Few heapings of that for some extra protein and flavor without the fat!

Wow! Amazing! Can you please come bake these for me? To be honest I'd probably take them for my own lunch, hahaha. So long as there weren't any pellets in there... I've tried them. They're really not my thing :p
