I don't know the right forum for this, and looked to see if the video was already posted but didn't find it...so...

This is a short video about a macaw that was kept in a parakeet cage for 17 years. She was rescued and has a good life now, so happy story at the moment. Her owner makes an eloquent case for understanding what a responsibility parrots are. I wish everyone who wants to adopt a bird could watch this.

That poor bird is lucky to have survived barbaric and cruel treatment. So nice to hear a wonderful story of rescue, yet one wonders how many other birds are and have been similarly tortured? I am really appalled!

I know ... I start to wonder the same thing, and have to make myself stop. I start to see them, the hundreds, no thousands, sitting in dark rooms, in closets, in basements, in cages. I think of the loud chorus of parrots calling for help, for attention, and gradually falling silent. There, that's enough of that, enough to remind me to do what I can.

Why is the coloration on the top of the wing predominantly green? Great story though! The two birds my fiancee and I rescued weren't in even near this hellish of an environment!

Thats just so disgusting and cruel. The sad reality is it happens to humans, birds, dogs.. everything. The part that really pisses me off is that they want MONEY for it. Good thing I didnt discover this, thats all Im going to say.
